Stroll in the storm

Yesterday was slightly windy as "Berit" decided to visit the Norwegian coast. However, the strongest storms were up in the north, we "just" had 20m/s wind. Still, I kind of felt it.

I needed to keep music playing almost 24/7 to cover the spooky sounds that it made. It sounded like thousands of ghosts were howling around the house, the boats and especially the bridge! Wasn't really nice to be alone.

Even the boats in front of our building were heeling in the gusts just because of the wind. Luckily the wind was coming behind the next island so there was no big waves to lift the boats on shore (or on our balcony whatsoever...)

In addition, the sea level was getting very high, luckily we are in the second floor :)

Walk around the island definitely proved that the wind was strong. Sometimes you just needed to stop and wait the wind to pass or otherwise it wasn't possible to move forward! The bay in front of Stavanger is not amazingly big so it is very unusual to see the water boiling like this.

Unfortunately these are my best shots of the storm, because I was sure that if I continue walking further on the dock, I will probably end up into the fjord. Didn't really want to walk on the bridge either for similar reasons...

In Stavanger we were mainly admiring the power nature, but especially in north the storm really showed how small the humans actually are:
